Description

Our Arctic Sammy Slip Leash offers the ability for the handler to give a controlled quick and gentle correction that eases when the pressure is released. It is a great tool for teaching your dog to walk comfortably beside you, correct reactive dogs or for dog sports such as agility. They are also handy for quick transport from your home to your car or from the car park to your favorite track!

Simply slip the leash over your dog's head. Functions as collar + leash in one.

The newly-designed Silicone Stopper ensures that the leash stays high up on your dog's neck and is easy and quick to use. It also prevents the leash from accidentally falling off your dog's neck and keeps the leash at the desired position at all times. The Safety Slider stops the leash from tightening and can be moved to change how far the loop closes around your dog's neck. This is a great feature for successful training but also a safety upgrade, making this leash suitable for younger dogs as well.

Our Arctic Sammy Slip Leash has been designed and tested by New Zealand Dog Behaviourists and Trainers to ensure best functionality and style.

Made of high strength and weather resistant NZ made climbing rope, making it the most durable leash available.

The Arctic Sammy Slip Leash is 8mm in diameter and is made for both small and large dogs. Please be aware, no slip leash should be left on a dog that is tied up or unsupervised. Always be conscious and aware of your dog's comfort level while using a Slip Leash.

Yes — we mean it! Our gear is built to last, and we stand behind it with a lifetime warranty on all products used as intended. That means normal use, not chew time — as every dog owner knows, a determined pup can shred just about anything!

If your dog decides to turn their leash or collar into a snack, it won’t be covered under warranty — but don’t worry, we do offer repairs for chewed gear. Just email us at mail@arcticsammy.co.nz and we’ll help you out.

We’ll always cover any manufacturing faults or material defects for the expected life of the product.

Perfect to refocus a dog that pulls on the leash!

I have been wanting a leash to stop my dog from pulling ahead when we walk. Actually, i have 3 dogs, small, medium and a large, and walking can be chaotic when one or all pull us along.
I had researched using a slip leash and Arctic Sammy had the perfect solution... So i bought 3! They work with all my dog sizes, and work wonderfully to refocus the dogs to walk at heel until i let them loose to play on the beach etc (where permitted).
The leashes not only focus the dog to heel, but my small terrier, the barker, is no longer distracted by approaching dogs and has stopped reacting to them when walking to heel on the Arctic Sammy sleep leash.... I can't believe it, that was an added bonus!!
The lashes go on and come off easily, sit just behind the head and not the neck and my dogs don't mind them at all.
They are strong, really well made and waterproof but they hardly weight so very lightweight. Being made in New Zealand was also an added bonus the quality is excellent. I am so thankful to have to have found these leashes. Thank you Arctic Sammy

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

When will I use a Slip Leash?

A Slip Leash is a great tool for quick on/off leash situations such as in and out of the car. It is also great for letting your dog out to do his business when you are in an unfamiliar environments, for dog agility and general leash training. It can also help with reactive dogs to keep them under control and prevent the dog-to-dog reaction before it happens. Last but not least, if your dog outweighs you and is very powerful, then a slip leash might be the safest walking set up for you.

Is the leash chew proof?

Unfortunately, no. You know, just like us, that dogs can chew through anything they put their mind to. The good news is: In most cases, we can repair your leash! Just send us a message and we will sort it out for you.

Is this a "choker leash"?

The loop around your dog's neck can be adjusted according to your training needs. You can choose how far it tightens by moving the safety slider up and down the rope. This makes it a safe leash, even for beginners when set up correctly.

Is this leash "cruel"?

Any dog gear can be cruel or painful for the dog if being misused. It is always up to the handler to get familiar with any tool and contact a trainer if in doubt. A Slip Leash is a wonderful training tool being used and approved by trainers around the globe.

Does this work for a puppy?

No. We do not recommend using a Slip Leash for a puppy. Their necks and throats are very sensitive and as they don't know how to walk on a leash yet, you will run the risk of harming them.

Anything else I need to know?

A slip leash is a great tool but can also be dangerous when used incorrectly. Hence why it is important to fully understand where to place it on your dog's neck and how to walk with him.
