The Milford Dog Rain Coat is made from a durable 3-layer shield fabric to provide waterproof, windproof and breathable protection when it's anything but sunny. It's super lightweight and uninsulated, so your dog can wear it in warm weather, and you can layer it with a sweater in colder temperatures. The vest-style dog raincoat slips over the head and buckles up on the back, providing good protection from puddle splashes and mud. The reflective piping and prints keeps your pup visible in low light conditions.

With an excellent breathability and a 15.000mm waterproof rating, the Arctic Sammy Dog Raincoat will not only protect your pup from getting soaked in the rain, but will also provide an added layer of protection from the wind. And furthermore, it helps keeping your car and house clean after your walks.

Prevent your long-haired dog from getting matted when wet - no more hotspots which causes your dog discomfort. Short-haired dogs with no undercoat are furthermore protected from getting cold. Especially if your dog can't stand the rain, he will appreciate the exercise while keeping warm and dry.

The Milford Rain Coat won't compromise your dog's movement or weigh down an athletic pup and is designed for unrestricted movement. Drawstrings adjust the fit at the collar, shoulders, and hips while elastic and adjustable back leg loops hold the coat in place.

Simply wear a harness underneath the coat and attach the leash through the covered attachment point at the back.

The coat comes in a handy compression bag for easy transport and storage.

How to Measure

Back Length Measurement

Measure the length of your dog’s back from between the shoulder blades to the base of its tail and follow the size table for optimum fit. If your dog is between sizes, we recommend choosing the bigger size.

Care

Gentle machine wash at 30°C
Double rinse, do not use fabric softener
Do not bleach
Securely fasten hook and loop fasteners and zippers during washing

Lifetime Warranty — Really?

Yes — we mean it! Our gear is built to last, and we stand behind it with a lifetime warranty on all products used as intended. That means normal use, not chew time — as every dog owner knows, a determined pup can shred just about anything!

If your dog decides to turn their leash or collar into a snack, it won’t be covered under warranty — but don’t worry, we do offer repairs for chewed gear. Just email us at mail@arcticsammy.co.nz and we’ll help you out.

We’ll always cover any manufacturing faults or material defects for the expected life of the product.

Please note: Toys, LED Dog Light, and ID Tags are excluded from our lifetime warranty.

Perfect Rain Jacket

This jacket is SO well designed and every detail has been thought out. It is light weight and comfortable for my dog. The fit is perfect. Being able to walk out in the rain and then arriving home without a stinky wet dog is great!! I did get confused with the back length measurement to determine my dog’s size which meant I exchanged 2 other sizes before finding the right one. User error there. My chunky Red Heeler ended up with a size 60. This process was easy as though, thanks so much to the Arctic Sammy team for your patience!

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS

How waterproof is it?

The Milford Raincoat has a 15.000mm water column and 5.000mm breathability rating.

Does the raincoat restrict my dog's movement?

We have designed the Milford raincoat with your dog's body movements in mind. The shoulder blades can move freely and the coat does not restrict your dog's legs - no matter the exercise.

Does the raincoat make any sounds during movement?

No, it is completely silent. We used special materials to avoid any sounds while your dog is wearing his coat. This is very useful for "gear-sensitive" dog's who generally don't enjoy wearing any gear. We also did not use any velcro for the same reasons.

Is the coat going to stay in place with very active dog's?

Yes! Our coats have multiple adjustment points to ensure a perfect fit. Furthermore, we also made the leg loops adjustable to avoid lifting during strong winds.

Why don't you have smaller sizes?

We are working on that- stay tuned!

Do I use it with a harness or collar?

This is completely your choice as both works. If you use a harness, we recommend wearing it underneath the coat and attach the leash through the leash opening on the back of the coat. You can not use a harness front ring tether with our rain coats.

Can I wash this raincoat?

Yes you can! We recommend using a liquid detergent for outdoor functional clothing. Have a look here.

I have received my jacket, how can I check the size?

Once you have received the jacket at home, please check carefully whether you have chosen the correct size.

Let your dogs walk inside while wearing the coat and check the size accordingly. Only use the jacket outside when you are sure the size is correct.
