Arctic Sammy

We recently purchased the 10m biothane long line to replace a DIY rope one I had made. Kepler (my border terrier cross) and I adore it - soft on your hands (doesn't cause rope burn) easy to clean, and reeeally nice to handle. It also doesn't slip out of your hands like I expected, easy to get a good grip on it when shortening it (my dog is only 12kg so may be harder with a big dog).

Very sturdy so far, perfect for a terrier who enjoys getting as filthy and tangled as possible!

As it's so soft it doesn't get tangled on roots and sticks like rope ones tend to. Very good quality handle and metalware. Amazing way to add lots of freedom but still have control when we get surprised by a rogue rabbit!!

I highly recommend it. Yes it comes with a cost but well worth it for how sturdy and good quality it is. Also as a plus the packaging was really cute ❤️!!

I purchased this to use on a newly homed 26kg pound rescue who hasn't been well socialised. After trying a harness, halti collar and check chain (the latter both damaged his fine fur).. a rope slip lead I had, but didn't have a stopper, so it kept falling out of place... and a leather slip lead with a leather tab which kept moving... I thought i would invest in this lead from a NZ Made Company.
1st off - super fast delivery, arriving overnight from CHCH to Taranaki.
1st impressions: Really well made, stopper seemed secure. I was worried the large knot on the handle would get in the way..
1st use: Amazing! A little harsh on the hand at first, just because the dog is such a puller.. but we had great results and he was walking nicely within 10 minutes. The large knot on the handle acts as a safety stop so he can't pull the lead out of my handand it was very comfortable to hold. The stopper worked well keeping the lead in place. What was also great is that he can wear his normal collar with ID tags , and a winter coat without interfering with the lead. It also didn't damage his fur.
My only wish is adding a 2nd "traffic" handle nearer the neck, so i think I will get one custom made. This would be unusual in a slip lead, but a feature I would find useful with this particular dog. The bonus is, being climbing rope, I was able to make a loop as a temporary handle.

The hands-free design makes walking so much more comfortable and without the hassle of constantly holding a lead.
The handle is a fantastic feature, giving extra control when needed. It's easy to quickly pull dogs back and keep them close.

This leash is awesome! Not only is it strong enough but it is very comfortable in the hand. I love how easy it is to clean if it gets dirty and getting wet is not a problem. The built in traffic handle is fantastic for those 'closer' required moments.

Fantastic lead for my Westie pup - so much easier to ensure his safety - nice and sturdy.

Absolutely love love love!!!!! Having a hook in the front and back of the harness is so handy especially when going on a hike! I also love how the handle glows in the dark almost like a soft neon light. Highly recommend

Honestly well worth the purchase! The waterproof long line is so easy to clean and doesn’t smell after it’s been used like my other longlines I have purchased in the past. It’s also super sturdy and doesn’t leave blisters on hand when Teddy suddenly lunges towards a bird or a squirrel.

Love this little tag! It’s silent so you don’t hear it jiggling about or hitting the bowl when he eats or drinks and the designs are cute! Plenty of space on the back for name and number of 2 adults.
