Further to my Review on ID Tag - POOR QUALITY

This is my response to your response to my review: You say you ‘mentioned in our correspondence’ that the tag was chewed. You didn’t respond to my correspondence. I had to phone to get any response. The question of chewing isn’t my issue. It’s the reality that the ID tag is not lasting an acceptable length of time. It’s not of merchantable quality and is therefore outside consumer law. And yes, aluminum dog tags are chew resistant. Your product is not but what is more alarming is your poor customer service. I got the distinct impression you just don’t care. Please other consumers, think twice about buying such a poor quality product!

Terrible Product! Not Robust or Fit for Purpose

I bought one of these rather pricey ID tags thinking the QR code would be invaluable. Within days, one third of the tag was missing. While I acknowledge my dog chewed it whilst wearing it, owner/mgr Kristina was immediately dismissive of my request for a refund. She said that the ‘website says not chew resistant’. I said those words weren’t mentioned anywhere a buyer would see when purchasing. Next she blamed me & said I put the tag on the ‘D-ring’ and said I should put it around the back of the collar. Hello? I’m sure it would still be accessible to any dog wherever on a dog collar. I think under the Consumer Guarantees Act 2003, I am entitled to a refund, replacement or repair. I’ve asked for a refund and Kristina is breaking the law by refusing. I intend to take this further on principle!

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with our response. As mentioned in our correspondence, the tag was damaged after being chewed, rather than due to a product fault. While we're always happy to replace or refund faulty products, damage caused by chewing isn't something covered under our warranty, as unfortunately no silicone tag is chew-proof.

In fact, we regularly repair chewed collars and leashes free of charge where possible. Unfortunately, once a silicone ID tag has been chewed and part of the material is missing, it cannot be repaired.

To help, we offered a discount towards a replacement and shared some suggestions to help keep the tag less accessible in future. Replacing the tag without addressing the cause would likely have resulted in the same outcome again.

We genuinely appreciate every customer and always do our best to find a fair and reasonable solution when issues arise. We're sorry that on this occasion we weren't able to provide the outcome you were hoping for, and we wish you and your dog all the best.

Very cute design and vibrant colour. Easy to see and read. It did take me a minute to get it on the collar as it is snugly fit, so I am not concerned it will ever fall off or get lost!

How does the QR Code work?

A QR code pet tag is a modern digital ID tag for pets. Instead of displaying printed information, it features a QR code that links to the pet owner’s contact details. When scanned, the code instantly provides the owner’s contact information, making it easy for finders to reach out and share the pet’s location.

Can I change my pet profile page?

Yes! The QR code is dynamic, allowing you to update and modify your profile page anytime, however you like.

Can I be notified when the QR code is scanned?

Yes! To enable this feature, go to your dashboard on qrcodechimp.com, find your QR code, and select Edit. In the edit section, navigate to Section 2: Design/Setting, then scroll down to Page Settings. Open this section, enable “Email me on scan,” and enter the email address where you’d like to receive notifications.

Please note that only an approximate location will be provided. To receive the pet’s exact current location, the finder can share it with you via their phone’s maps app or send it via text.

Which information can I enter on my pet ID Profile page?

Almost anything you like! A Pet ID profile page can include your pet’s name, vaccination status, medical history, and more. You can also add the owner’s name, address, contact details, and photos.

How do I set up my dog's profile page?

When you order your dog’s new tag, you’ll receive an email with your login details for qrcodechimp.com, the platform that hosts our pet profiles. Simply log in and start creating your dog’s profile page. We recommend setting up the profile on a desktop browser rather than a phone, as the wider layout makes navigation easier.

Can I make the profile page private and only change it once my dog gets lost?

Yes! You can temporarily pause the QR code, preventing any information from being displayed when scanned. To do this, go to your dashboard, find the QR code you want to pause, click the “More” icon, and select “Pause.”

What material is the tag made out of?

100% Silicon with a stainless steel split ring

Is it suitable for the beach?

Yes! Salt water or sand is not a problem and won't harm your new ID Tag.
