How to measure your dog

✔️ Use a soft measuring tape for accuracy — not a ruler or string.

✔️ Keep the tape snug against the body. Don’t leave extra room or “breathing space”.

✔️ Always measure the widest point of each area (head, neck, and chest).

✔️ If your dog has a fluffy coat, gently compress the fur while measuring to avoid overestimating the size.

1. Neck Measurement

Measure the widest part of your dog's neck (closest to their shoulders)

2. Head Measurement

Measure the widest part of your dog's head (around the ears and under the jaw)

3. Waist Measurement

Measure the widest part of your dog's chest (likely at the middle of their rib cage):

FAQ

We understand that having to buy multiple harness throughout puppyhood can be uncomfortable. However, any piece of gear should have the right fit to avoid injuries, skin irritations and the chance of slipping out of it and escaping.

That's great news! It means you can go with either sizes and you can't be wrong... They should both fit! There can be a few points to consider when making that choice and we are happy to assist you. Just send us an email hello@arcticsammy.co.nz and we will get back to you asap.

We are trying our best to avoid this to save you time and effort of organising the return. However, these things can happen as every dog has it's unique features! Simply visit or Resolution Center and we will take care of the rest.

Slip the harness over your dog's head and adjust both straps to have a comfortable fit. If you can put two fingers between your dog's body and both the neck and chest strap, then thats a good start!

It is important to check the space between the straps and the armpits. We recommend having at least 2 fingers width of space to avoid rubbing.

Once adjusted, the harness should easily slip over your dogs head with no force.
